Now, in this week’s small business news roundup, we’ll discuss the slowing of small biz hiring in April, a workshop to help you market your business with video, and the 10 worst tax states for small biz.

Let’s go!

First two other great roundups:

  • This Week in Small Business: Where is the Recovery?: The New York Times shares links to articles about a warning that the Fed is fueling a financial bubble, growing confidence in the global economy from accountants, how the digitization of manufacturing will change the way goods are made, and much more.

And now the rest:

  • Small business hiring slows in April: NFIB: According to Reuters, “Hiring by small businesses slowed in April, but there was an increase in the number of employers planning to create new jobs and those reporting they could not find qualified workers to fill job openings.”
  • Learn how to market your small business with video: From the Los Angeles Times comes this announcement of a two-hour workshop on video marketing to be held at the Small Business Administration in Glendale, California on May 8. There’s no mention of the workshop being available online afterwards, but you might check in with the SBA if you’re interested.
  • 10 Worst Tax States for Small Business: “The SBE’s index ranks all 50 U.S. states as well as Washington from best to worst in terms of each tax system’s cost on entrepreneurship and small business. The index pulls together 18 different tax measures, combining them into a tax score that allows for a state-by-state comparison.”
