Ernst & Young LLP is seeking applicants for its Entrepreneurial Winning Women Program. In its fifth year in existence, this competition and leadership program seeks to identify and help promising businesses run by young women grow.
Previous year program participants’ companies have grown nearly 50 percent a year on average, according to a study done by the Babson College Center for Women’s Leadership. Moreover, the businesses experienced annual job growth rates of more than 25 percent.
“Women employ 16 percent of the US workforce and climbing – starting businesses at twice the rate of men. Yet they start with less capital and don’t grow as large,” noted Herb Engert, Americas Strategic Growth Markets Leader for Ernst & Young. “Our program helps successful women entrepreneurs propel their company’s growth, which benefits their businesses, creates jobs, and helps to boost the economy.”
In addition to an invitation to join the long-term leadership program, winners receive an all-expense paid trip to the Ernst & Young Strategic Growth Forum® 2012, November 14-18, 2012 in Palm Springs, California; at the Forum, the winners will be recognized during a special event and also be able to present their companies with other attendees, including “Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® winners, top executives, prospective investors, and business advisors,” according to the press release.
